    Overview

    We are heading into our Fall and Winter season, which features our popular events Canyon Frights and Canyon Lights, and are looking for amazing people to join our amazing team!   • Custodial Team Member

    Property: Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

    Position Title: Custodial Team Member

    Overview

    Custodial Team Members are responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness of the park’s indoor facilities are maintained to a level that amazes our guest. This includes washrooms, public areas, offices and team member spaces. Our Custodial Team Members are responsible for our garbage and recycling programs as well as sanitation services throughout the park. During the winter season, the Custodial team in conjunction with the rest of the Facilities and Grounds team, is responsible for snow removal and de-icing of the park grounds.

    As an active member of this team, this position is responsible for keeping safety as a top priority in all daily tasks.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Perform daily cleaning of all indoor facilities that are part of Capilano Suspension Bridge Park including floors, windows, table tops and walls,
    • Maintains a high level of cleanliness of all washrooms and public spaces year round,
    • Collect and dispose of all garbage and recyclables,
    • Clean light fixtures and change accessible light bulbs/tubes,
    • Complete non-routine deep cleaning according to a specified schedule,
    • Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up,
    • Handle emergency cleaning requests,
    • Dusting,
    • Transport product and garbage to and from the west side,
    • Support with snow removal in the winter months,
    Qualifications
    • One (1) year of guest service experience, custodial or related experience,
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written,
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of team members,
    • Strong guest service orientation,
    • First Aid level 1 or higher, a strong asset.
    Considerations
    • Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business,

    Overview

    As a Line Cook, you will be working in our recently renovated prep kitchen or working the line in our quick serve venues or onsite restaurant. Your main duties include, but are not limited to, working with fellow team members to provide excellent food service to our guests through the preparation, cooking and serving of products in a food safe facility

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Prepare menu items as per recipes,
    • Prepare large amounts of menu items using effective bulk prepping techniques,
    • Follows presentation specifications as set by the Food & Beverage Manager and Sous Chef,
    • Ensure the quality of food is outstanding every time and items are produced quickly and efficiently with pride and attention to detail,
    • Perform all opening and closing assignments as instructed,
    • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in cooler, and all storage areas,
    • Participate in daily shipping, receiving, distribution, inventory and control over kitchen supplies, and
    • Ensure only the highest quality products are served,
    • Performs additional responsibilities, as requested by the Sous Chef.
    Qualifications
    • Previous kitchen or cooking experience necessary,
    • Formal kitchen training considered an asset,
    • Strong oral communication skills, multilingual is considered an asset,
    • Positive attitude and a strong desire to provide experiences Guests are amazed by,

  • Canyon Lights Installation Team Member

    Position Title: Canyon Lights Installation Team Member

    Overview

    The Canyon Lights Installation & Special Projects Team Member is primarily responsible for installing the outdoor components of Capilano Suspension Bridge Park’s annual Canyon Lights display. They are expected to coordinate their installation tasks with our Project Lead, and the Facilities & Grounds Team.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    Installation Duties

    • Follow all reasonable directives from Canyon Lights Installation Supervisor and Marc-Luc,
    • Comply with demonstrated standards of product installation,
    • Work independently or with other Lights Installation Team Members when required,
    • Work consistently without supervision,
    • Ensure every light plug connection is protected from the elements with waterproof tape or another method as directed by your supervisor,
    • Set up power systems in the most efficient manner possible.

    General Operations

    • Ensure all scheduled shifts are being filled, communicated and identify needs to ensure maximum coverage and productivity, working, within budget with the General Operations Manager (GOM),
    • Ensure light installation is adhering to the strict deadlines,
    • Immediately communicate any foreseeable reasons for delay in installation timeline to Marc-Luc, the General Operations Manager and Facilities & Grounds Manager with urgency,
    • Ensure Park presentation is maintained at a high level with particular attention to working spaces as lights are being installed, keep pathways clean and clear, work with the Operations management team to ensure the light installation is not disruptive to the guest experience. Some lift work will be required to take place in the early morning or after park hours,
    • Follow the installation plan according to the outlined priorities with a focus on safety lighting around the park during the Fall operating hours,
    • Communicate on a daily basis with Facilities & Grounds team re: equipment usage and needs,
    • Communicate and ensure compliance of all company policies, procedures and programs,
    • Set the example in following CSBP and department guidelines and executing any reasonable directive from the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park Leadership team and ownership.

    Health & Safety

    • Know and follow all Capilano’s health and safety policies and procedures,
    • Ask for further training before taking on any task that you are unsure of or have not been trained on,
    •  Use protective clothing, devices and equipment provided and find out what protective equipment is required for each task,
    • Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes,
    • Be alert to hazards and immediately report hazards, defective equipment or concerns to the Operations Supervisor
    • Use ladders safely and within the designed specifications,
    • Operate with the JOHS Committee and any person carrying out Occupational Health and Safety duties,
    • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the Operations Supervisor (Lights Installation).
    Qualifications
    • One (1) full season experience in an Operations Role within Capilano Group preferred,
    • Experience or interest in outdoor lighting design and installation,
    • Must be responsible, reliable, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, exciting environment to meet fluctuating needs,
    • Ability to work successfully in a team environment and contributes consistently in a positive manner,
    • Previous experience or training operating a man-lift or willingness to train,
    • First Aid – Level 1, is an asset.

    Overview

    We have four Food & Beverage venues, each with their own personality and tasty offerings in the Park. Join the Food & Beverage team and work in our fast-paced and fun venues while working with an amazing team while meeting guests from around the world!

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Collect payments and issue receipts in a timely fashion; keep track of all cash and credit transactions.
    • Keep tabs on whether prices and quantities of products are correct.
    • Take orders with accuracy and enthusiasm!
    • Ensure restaurant items are stocked and ready for business (condiments, napkins, etc.)
    • Ensure safe and sanitary practices are adhered to in accordance with company and facility policies; maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
    • Prioritize the Guest experience by going above and beyond (you love providing park recommendations and getting to know our Guests!)
    • Leverage your exceptional interpersonal skills and product knowledge to advise Guests on menu options based on their personal palette and preferences.
    Qualifications
    • You have experience in a quick service and fast paced restaurant.
    • Experience navigating a POS system would be an asset.

    Overview

     The Trading Post Gift Shop houses 6,000 square feet of custom branded goods, gifts and treats that have been hand-selected to appeal to all ages and tastes. Our warehouse team helps to ensure stock is received, stored and replenished each day.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Diligently review and enter all received orders into our internal system.
    • Maintain order and accuracy through detailed cross-checking of orders and inventory.
    • Ensure exceptional product knowledge through taking initiative to learn about our products.
    • Familiarize yourself with all products and understand when replenishment is necessary.
    • Build relationships with your team in the warehouse and the retail team through timely communication.

  • Security Team Member

    Overview

    At Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, thousands of people come and go through our doors each day to work, shop, and eat while at Vancouver’s first tourist attraction. We’re looking for a highly competent security officer to join our team to monitor the premises and protect our valued staff, guests, and inventory. Our ideal candidate will have prior experience as a security officer or guard, as well as training in first aid. They will have a sharp eye with quick reaction time in the detection of any suspicious or criminal behavior, and prevention of theft or vandalism.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Ensure a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrol, strict access control, monitoring, and equipment control,
    • Respond immediately to distress calls and emergency calls for disruptive guests or persons, and incidents swiftly and appropriately,
    • Patrol CSBP property on foot, ensuring building, fencing, and gates are attended to by the appropriate team members and are secure,
    • Complete daily reports, including all relevant information, observations,
    • As required, assist with parking lot flow and guest communication with a focus on supporting the parking team members,
    • Ensure gate entrances/exits are secure at all times, and as requested, monitor park entrances during special events and/ or construction projects,
    • Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment & clothing are available, properly worn when required and properly inspected and maintained,
    • Ensure department team members are trained on First Aid procedures and practices, including critical incident procedures and kit locations,
    • Take every reasonable precaution to ensure the protection of Team Members and Guests, Safety First!
    Qualifications
    • Valid Security certificate
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • First Aid level 1
    • Experience and/or education in customer service
    • Professional presentation and strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent verbal communication skills,
    • Introductory knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as familiar with POS systems,

    Position Title: Shuttle Ambassador

    Overview


    The Shuttle Ambassador’s role includes on-site and off-site operational management of the shuttle service, which includes Guest loading, liaison with the shuttle drivers and communicating with our shuttle service provider on any problems or logistical matters. You are part of a team that is responsible for monitoring guest safety and traffic flow of our bus lot and entrance plaza area at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. If positioned in downtown, you are responsible for the active off-site promotion of tourist visits to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. The Shuttle Ambassador will also promote visits to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park through our sightseeing and tour company partners. It is an active, outdoor position that requires working as part of a team to exceed expectations of our guests.

    Qualifications
    • One (1) year of Guest service experience in the tourism industry,
    • Work effectively under pressure and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment,
    • Ability to handle high volumes of vehicle traffic and guest-related interactions with professionalism,
    • Positive, proactive, and energetic personality
    • Must have a passion for guest service, the city and its many sights
    • Knowledge of transit routes and the greater Vancouver area is a strong asset,
