Capilano Suspension Bridge
Lights up the Night!
Special events throughout the
park celebrate the holiday season
North
Vancouver, B.C. - Capilano Suspension Bridge celebrates holiday magic
with Canyon Lights, a winter celebration of light taking place the month of
December. Celebrations started on December 3rd with the launch
event, "Light up the Night," when the park came alive with the illumination
of thousands of lights.
Canyon Lights features over
100,000 twinkling lights throughout the park and includes Capilano's newest
attraction, Treetops Adventure providing visitors the opportunity to explore
the spectacularly lit forest from an entirely new perspective! Another
highlight is the spectacular maple tree, draped in an extravaganza of colour.
"In all my years growing
up here at Capilano, I have never seen the park looking as festive as it
does today," said Nancy Stibbard, President and Owner. "I look forward to
sharing the holiday season and the magic of Capilano with our local and
international guests. I invite everyone to experience one of Vancouver's
favourite attractions all lit up for the festive season."
Guests
can enjoy mulled apple cider and festive treats while carolers, dressed in
historical winter costumes, stroll through the park. Hours in December are
10am - 5pm with hours extended to 9pm on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
and every day December 16 to December 30 (Note: December 24 - 10:00am -
5:00pm; Closed December 25). Visit
www.capbridge.com or call 604.985.7474 for more information.
The
attraction is part of the Capilano Group of Companies (CGC), which comprises
retail, lodge and attraction businesses including Moraine Lake Lodge and
Cathedral Mountain Lodge near Banff, Alberta. The most recent endeavor is a
resort project on Mackenzie Beach in Tofino, located on the rugged West
Coast of British Columbia's Vancouver Island.
Nancy
Stibbard, President and Owner of the Capilano Group of Companies, has won
numerous awards including Business in Vancouver's Influential Women in
Business Award in 2000, Ernst and Young's 1996 Entrepreneur of the Year
