It's held a 46 ton tree, and now it's supporting the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund

Capilano Suspension Bridge kicks off the season with a fundraiser for the Burn Fund

North Vancouver, B.C. - It's held royalty, rock stars, and recently a 46-ton tree and on Saturday, May 12, 2007, Capilano Suspension Bridge will hold an unprecedented number of Professional Fire Fighters, their families and friends in a fundraising effort for the Burn Fund.

Both organizations were affected during the winter storms of 2006.  Capilano Suspension Bridge closed for repairs after a windstorm swept through the park causing extensive damage, resulting in the cancellation of the annual Canyon Lights celebration. For the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund, the storms lead to a four-day cancellation of their popular Bright Nights in Stanley Park event, which presented a challenge for them in meeting their fundraising goals.

Besides physically supporting hundreds of Professional Fire Fighters, Capilano Suspension Bridge will also make a donation to the Burn Fund to help raise funds for essential programs which support burn survivors and their families, upgrade and educate Burn Unit medical staff, and support world-renowned burn and wound healing research in BC.
