WHEN are school programs offered?
We offer school programs from the beginning of October until the end of April, Monday through Friday.

WHO teaches the school programs?
Our school programs are delivered by members of the education staff at Capilano Suspension Bridge; teacher-trained hosts and nature guides, First Nations artists and our own ecology supervisor. Please note that teachers are responsible for their students at all times.

WHAT is included in the school program?
In addition to the instructional time specific to each program be sure to allow for enough time to explore all areas of the park including:

  • Cross the world famous Capilano Suspension Bridge!

  • Get a squirrel's eye view of the rainforest from Treetops Adventure

  • Visit the Story Centre to learn about North Vancouver's history

  • Visit Kia'palano and the little Big House where First Nations artists carve, weave and  carry out many other traditional activities

  • Explore the interpretative trails, trout ponds and the Living Forest Display

  • Go on a nature or history tour of the park (upon prior request)

HOW many students can be in each program?
To ensure the quality of the experience, a maximum of 30 students per school program is requested, as well as a 1 to 10 adult/student ratio.

WHERE: The rainforest as a classroom?
The Capilano Classroom portion of the school program (instructional time) takes place under a heated marquise tent in the Canyon Lookout area.  Following instructional time, the students will be exploring and participating in hands-on activities which will take place in the rainforest.  Since Capilano Suspension Bridge is an outdoor attraction, we ask you to ensure that all students are dressed for the weather.  Raingear is recommended. Anticipate weather changes.

WHAT should we bring with us?
Being an outdoor attraction, Capilano Suspension Bridge does not have any storage space to accommodate visitors. We recommend that you bring a backpack to store items you plan to bring with you. Cameras, a snack or lunch (if needed) are a good idea, but not necessary.  Raingear, closed toe shoes and a coat or sweater (depending on time of year) come in handy, especially when exploring in the rainforest, which tends to be a few degrees cooler than the surrounding temperature.

WHERE can we eat?
Your class can bring their own snacks/lunch into the park.  There is a designated eating area made available to you upon request.  We also offer student friendly group menus.

WHERE is Capilano Suspension Bridge located and how do we get there?
Capilano Suspension Bridge is located at 3735 Capilano Road in North Vancouver, BC.
