“Rainforest Rescuers”: Environmental Studies program

 

 

Participate in a scavenger hunt and create a memory game (younger students) or awareness poster (older students) to discover the importance of recognizing and identifying factors unique to temperate rainforest of BC’s west coast, as well as the importance of conservation and environmental stewardship.

 

“Bridge Builders” includes 75 - 115 minutes of instructional time and hands-on activities, as well as a shortened tailored history and free time for your class to explore all areas of the park. Program is offered as a primary or intermediate format.

 

 

Grades 1-3

While in the park your students will:

ü      Explore the interpretive trails to learn about the major components of a coastal rainforest

ü      Participate in a guided nature tour

ü      Create and participate in a life-size board game focusing on rainforest elements and environmental conservation

ü      Option: book a guided park history tour

 

Grades 4-7

While in the park you students will:

ü      Explore the interpretive trails to learn about the major components of a coastal rainforest

ü      Participate in a guided nature tour

ü      Create a poster to communicate the importance of conserving temperate rainforests

ü      Option: book a guided park history tour
