“Bridge Builders”: Science Program

 

Cross the suspension bridge; visit Treetops Adventure; build a model bridge. Join a Capilano Educational staff member to explore the dynamics, physics, and mathematical and technological requirements to build a safe and sturdy bridge.

 

“Bridge Builders” includes 75 - 115 minutes of instructional time and hands-on activities, as well as a shortened tailored history and free time for your class to explore all areas of the park. Program is offered as a primary or intermediate format.

 

 

Grades 1-3

While in the park your students will:

ü      Participate in a guided tour focusing on the physical structure of the suspension bridge and Treetops Adventure

ü      Experiment with the concepts of tension, twisting, compression and gravity

ü      Learn about the evolution of bridges

ü      Participate in a bridge building competition

ü      Option: book a nature or history tour

 

Grades 4-7

While in the park your students will:
